NHS DPT Storage & DSPT Compliance

Secure, compliant storage and retention for NHS dental records and DPT/OPG radiographs, plus practical, hands-on support for your annual NHS Data Security & Protection Toolkit (DSPT) submission.

NHS records, stored and evidenced properly

NHS dental practices carry specific obligations around how patient records and radiographs, including DPT/OPG panoramic images, are stored, retained and protected. On top of that, every NHS practice must complete the Data Security & Protection Toolkit (DSPT) each year to keep providing NHS services.

We handle both sides. We provide encrypted, retention-aware storage for NHS records and imaging, with immutable off-site backups, and we give you practical, hands-on help with the DSPT, mapping the technical controls to the toolkit questions and producing the evidence, so submission is straightforward instead of stressful.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you help us actually complete the DSPT?

Yes, this is one of the most common requests we get. We map your practice’s systems and controls to the DSPT questions, close the technical gaps (MFA, encryption, access control, backups, logging), gather the evidence, and support you through submission so it stops being a yearly source of stress.

How long do we have to keep radiographs and NHS records?

Dental records and radiographs are subject to defined retention periods under NHS and information-governance guidance, which vary by record and patient type. We configure your storage and archiving so records and DPT/OPG images are retained for the required period and are securely retrievable throughout, and we can point you to the relevant guidance for your practice.

Is cloud storage of NHS patient data allowed?

Yes, when it is done properly, UK/EEA data residency, encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and appropriate contracts. We design storage that meets those requirements so you get the resilience of the cloud without compromising compliance.
